Jamie Mey

Meet Jamie.

About Jamie Mey, PT, DPT, CMTPT, OCS, CFSC

Hello everyone! I am a graduate of Sacred Heart University’s Class of 2015 Doctoral Physical Therapy Program with my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. While at Sacred Heart, I was also a collegiate hockey player. I appreciate one-on-one care, with emphasis on hands-on manual therapy and approaching rehabilitation with a functional outlook. I believe the physical therapy experience is not just about pain reduction, but also the enhancement of function and performance through a proactive versus reactive mindset. I am a strong advocate for prevention and management for long-term musculoskeletal health. While I perform a variety of manual therapy interventions, I definitely have a niche for dry needling and pelvic alignment in particular.  My treatment style is focused on the specific individual and not the diagnosis. My professional background and certifications are listed below.

Since starting my career, I quickly became certified in Gray Cook’s Selective Functional Movement Screen (SFMA), as well as Emergency Medical Response (EMR). In the spring of 2017, I became a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. This specialty certification allowed me to further develop my knowledge on more complex orthopedic conditions, post-operative rehabilitation and musculoskeletal injuries. I later became certified in Gray Cook’s Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and a specialized golf assessment certification from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). TPI is a golf-specific screen that allows me to assess individual bodily limitations and impairments to enhance the biomechanics of one’s golf swing. I am also certified in level 3 dry needling through Myopain Seminars, Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training through Owen’s Recovery Science, and as a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) through Mike Boyle’s program.

I was born and raised in Rhode Island and am fortunate to reside in my family home with my wife, Amy, and our pup, Sawyer. In my spare time, I enjoy playing ice hockey, rollerblading, working out, or reading a book at the beach. Personal interests: functional medicine, sauna use, cancer prevention.
