Our Philosophy.
Transforming personalized, local care.
At JMZ, clients receive one-on-one care with an emphasis on hands-on manual therapy, effective communication, extensive patient-education, and functional rehabilitation. Rather than do things the typical way, we’ve created a system designed around our patients’ needs.
We are strong advocates for prevention and management for long-term musculoskeletal health. The majority of common musculoskeletal injuries are related to adaptations in a predictable pattern based on overuse and underuse of specific muscle groups. They are preventable, reversible, and manageable when provided the right information, tools, and knowledge. Our treatment style is focused on the specific individual, not the diagnosis. We work to treat the root cause of an issue in order to stop symptoms from recurring in the future.
We believe the physical therapy experience is not just about pain reduction, but also about the enhancement of function and performance through a proactive versus a reactive mindset.
“Trigger points are constant sources of peripheral nociceptive input leading to peripheral and central sensitization. Dry needling can reverse aspects of central sensitization, reduce local and referred pain, improve range of motion and muscle activation patterns, and alter/normalize the chemical environment of muscles.”
— J. Dommerholt
Jamie’s Mindset
“In my practice, I focus on the individual in everything I do. The key lies in revealing the accurate diagnosis or source of one’s symptoms. The ‘fix’ to your pain or dysfunction may be very simple, but the challenge is exposing the true origin and the patient’s specific impairments. That’s the fun part of the job. I take this approach versus treating patients based on a standard diagnosis. I treat them based on their individual impairments, who they are, and what they do, versus generalizing diagnoses. My treatment goals are your goals. Whatever you want or need, that’s our focus. ”
